Darling Dalat, where the Honeymooners go!

With 200,000 people Dalat is still small enough to remain charming with its landscape of lakes, waterfalls, pine forests, and gardens. It's romantic with French colonial tree lined streets, chateau-style villas, and a lake in the middle of town. We liked the Valley of Love the best(pictured above) with many places to take pictures by heart sculptures, go on a 2 person swing, ride paddle boats around the lake, take a horse carriage ride, hold hands while walking on small pathways around a forest, etc. At Prem Waterfall you can ride elephants, ponies, or an ostrich, but instead we opted for the cable car ride with fantastic views of the city (or as our tour guide would say, a 10 minute escape to kiss and snuggle). Relaxing together sitting on a park bench at the Flower Garden was peaceful as we enjoyed the scenery of orchids, hydrangeas, and bonzai shaped bouganvillas. So in love!

Visiting a poor hill tribe village, Koho, outside of town where the women still carry babies on their backs in a piece of cloth, makes us appreciate all that we have. I hope I am a tough as them when we have kids. We saw a Buddhist monk make cinnamon incense by hand (below) and of course we bought some and other meditation beads too!
A new Buddhist Meditation Monastery was built by the monks and the manicured gardens were magnificent.

The Crazy House was interesting (pictured below left) with its Gaudi-esque architecture, themed rooms, caves, and mushroom garden. Dalat is a must-see on any Vietnam itinerary!
