Patara Beach, Turkey

Patara is the birthplace of Saint Nicholas- yes good ole Santa Claus (except there are only muslims here, so there is no Santas workshop and Mr. and Mrs. Claus are curiously absent). Paul is standing in an ancient amphitheatre and check out the carved stone below him that looks like a gladiator sword). You feel inspired when walking through this open air museum. İts a 2.5km walk through pine forests to the beach. Patara Beach is the longest beach in Turkey and stretches over 20km! The sand felt and looked just like Ocean Beach, reminding us of home.

Hi McNeils from your buddy Walter in San DIego. I miss fish taco and beer nights with you guys. Love your pictures and comments. A happy late Thanksgiving. I have a meeting with Mitch M. on a Otay Meas project we own tomorrow with our friends at Fish and Wildlife. You picked a good year to be gone. Looking forward you your next set of postings from the edge. Walter
