We stayed with Louise and Brett in Haut Bay area of Cape Town from Nov 19th and just left Dec. 11. They are a couple we met online at a website called couch surfers. The idea is to meet travellers and give them information about your home town. You can choose to have people stay on your couch or just meet for coffee. Since we got along so well with Brett and Louise they invited us to stay at their beautiful 4 bedroom house in one of their spare bedrooms. We have enjoyed sundowners (wine at sunset) with a view of Table Mountain from their deck and playing with their dog Cola. They have been so generous and fun; taking us all over town and introducing us to their friends! Haut Bay is kind of like Laguna Beach with small restaurants/cafes, boutiques, a fishermans wharf, art galleries, and dog beach. We walk everywhere and go hiking too. Camps Bay and Clifton are like Newport Beach and HB which are the next beaches down about 10km away. Downtown Cape Town is not our scene, so its really nice to be able to stay out in Haut Bay. We ended our stay with a shrimp braai (bbq) at their house and then left for the Garden Route along the coast heading northeast.
