Our new friends, Wayne and Giselle, offered to let us stay with them in their newly remodeled 5- bedroom house in an exclusive neighborhood in George (pictured above). Wayne is a fabulous chef and cooked a mouthwatering filet mignon in the braai (pictured above). They are so much fun and we are so thankful for their generosity to us couch surfers. We met them through friends in Cape Town. Pictured below is the four of us hiking along a stream to a beautiful waterfall in George out in the country.
Victoria Bay (bottom left photo) is a our favorite beach near George and has a good surf break too. We travelled up the Garden Route to Knysna where we stopped and let Ella, their pitbull, out for a swim. Also we sampled the famous oysters at the Knysna Oyster Company and a bottle of champagne. Then it was off to Plettenburg Bay for lunch at Cornutti with a view of the sea and sipped on a bottle of our favorite savignon blanc, Brampton, because on the label it states that it is to be "enjoyed by good-looking people." Now Wayne has given us the nick-name "The Bramptons." As you can see we have been having a great time and the Garden Route is a beautiful part of South Africa due to the several lakes, rivers, green hills, and oceans all on the same road.
