Wilderness National Park has rivers, estuaries, lakes, 230 bird species, and 18 km of coastline. We hiked the most popular King Fisher Trail and it was just lovely. We thought of all the elephants that used to walk around here and the bushmen who ate rusk (a hard sweet cracker with nuts/seeds that south africans still eat today for breakfast with their rooibos tea) while hiking these trails. There were so many different species of plants and trees. The rainbow color of the stream and fabulous views from the top of the mountain were breathtaking.

Below is the rewarding view from the end of our hike looking out at Wilderness beach of the Indian Ocean and down at the kayakers on the river. For lunch we ate the traditional Dutch "potje" which is a meal cooked in a cast iron pot and we chose the seafood one (shrimp, calamari, fish, and mussels in a creamy garlic, mushroom, and lemongrass broth). Scrumptious!
