Route 62 and Montagu

The drive on the historic Route 62 in Klein Karoo was gorgeous and a 2 hour drive from Cape Town out into the countryside. Route 62 is the world's longest wine route and there are rivers and lakes throughout. The small farm town of Montagu is known for fruit trees (apricots and peaches) and great hikes. We stayed in a barn (pictured below) on a pecan farm with chickens and horses. The horses live in the barn in the winter and it's a guesthouse in the summer.
