We also met Liz and Tony Smith on the now infamous Croatia Cruise and these kind and hospitable British South Africans invited us to their home in Port Elizabeth. They picked us up at Jefferey's Bay- where we played beach volleyball, saw dolphins, and world class surfers- and went to their family's beach house in St. Francis Bay. St. Francis has strict building codes for the 2 neighborhoods that make up the community. You must either build thatched dutch colonial on the east side or tuscan with tiles on the west. No other styles are allowed and it makes for a very cohesive vacation resort. Knysna, on the other hand has no apparent codes and has lost a lot of its former charm as strip malls and a mish-mash of unique buildings dominate the town. St. Francis is very upscale and is home to The Links at St. Francis - another course that Paul would not dare play without at least 12 spare balls. We had a fantastic lunch at Le Camilleon in Humansdorp (a most unlikely location, it was a former auto repair turned chic garden/boutique/cafe). We love wine a t lunch time!
