World's largest bas-relief in Mamallapuram

Mamallapuram is famous for the Stone Temple and the world's largest bas-relief 27m x 9m (above). You could watch the monkeys here for hours, but you really have to watch them! This one snatched a water bottle from an unsuspecting tourist, uncrewed the cap, and proceded to have a nice long drink. No one would dare try to get it back- they have huge teeth!
Later, we met with Paul Calvert, a British ex-pat who showed us his tsunami house and how he lives eco-friendly (pictured below). He has lived in India 20 years improving the lives of fishermen and their families. Paul told us that 750,000 children die each year in India from diarrhea associated with drinking contaminated water. The #1 contaminent is human fecal matter. Therefore Paul invented a self-composting, dehydrating toilet and now sells and trains people how to use them. Technology is quite simple and the entire world should be using it!
