Siamese Siblings

Paul's brother, John, and Eileen's sister, Kate, joined us in Bangkok for a weekend in the big city (pictured above). We went on a boat cruise with a monk down the Chao Praya River and visited Wat Arun (Temple of Dawn) eating street food all day. Later that night we stayed energized dancing at Bed Supperclub was awesome with the help of the authentic Thai Red Bull drinks. Sunday morning started off with thai ice teas and coffees as we shopped 'til we dropped at Chatuchak, the largest open-air market in Asia with 15,000 stalls. Next we were treated as VIP guests to thai boxing with "RINGSIDE" seats at Ratchadamnoen Stadium, compliments of Elizabeth's uncle. On our way home we had some family fun on the Sky Train (below) and visited Nana Plaza. Of course we got thai massages and manicure/pedicure treatments that night, but they made us so relaxed that we went straight to bed.

Monday, Kate and John did sightseeing while Paul and Eileen stayed home at the LUXURY 5 star Sheraton. That afternoon we hung out at the Sheraton's lovely pool and took an overnight train/boat package to Koh Samui, where we got married. I can't say our bretheren/sisteren were happy about traveling "backpacker style." However, once in Samui they loved the elephant trekking, monkey show, thai food demonstration, and orchid farm tour, but I think they liked the nightlife the best. After Samui, they both opted to fly to Phuket while we stayed terrestrial on the bus. Paul and I admit, it was nice to stay in hotels where they deliver a paper every morning. John called us grandma and grandpa because we did the puzzles every day. We've been a little starved for comforts. Kate was born in the year of the Monkey and check her out below!

On Phuket Island Mr.James took us on a fabulous city tour of the Big Buddah, temples, cashew nut factory, jewelry center, pearl factory (where Kate and I bought rings), and shopping on Bangla Road. It's traveller central and even in Low Season, it's still hopping at 2 am, where both had big nights partying on the beach. John stayed an extra day and we enjoyed a snorkelling tour to Koh Phi Phi! Our siblings left us at Phuket Island where Patong Beach fromTsunami fame is the main attraction.
