The Tollygunge Club in Calcutta, Since 1895

For our last 2 days in India, we treated ourselves to the famous Tollygunge Club covering 100 acres. We spent the day swimming, playing golf, ping pong, working-out at the air-conditioned gym, holding hands walking around the botanical gardens, checking out the horse stables, and enjoying fine dining. We never left the club to see Calcutta! When it was too hot to be outside, we enjoyed a spa treatments and new hair styles. Feeling like Indian royalty was a fantastic way to leave India!
In case you were wondering what Calcutta looks like, here's a view from our taxi... polluted, overpopulated, dirty, poor, dusty, extremely hot, etc.., but full of very kind people! India, the Land of Extremes.
